Current projects
“ATHLEADERSHIP” is a program designed to develop confidence, compassion, self-awareness, emotional intelligence, vision and discipline in youth. It is a leadership program for high school student athletes to train North Minneapolis youth in mindset development for possibility thinking, providing tools to co-create a new reality of opportunity for all. Athleadership builds on the success of a curriculum that develops underused inner resources for creativity, positivity, productivity, learning, and peak performance, and provides a model to widely spread the positive practices and principles. What is the goal of your project? Our main goal is transformation. Our sub-goal is to train 10 high school athletes who have gone through the Discovery of Self (DoS) curriculum to teach key elements of DoS to 100 youth in 5 summer programs, providing the 100 youth with whole new ways to look at themselves, look at others, and look to their future possibilities, by learning new internal development strategies, new information about how their inner world can transform their outer circumstances, and hearing true stories about those who have used these new methods to create new and very positive realities. The DoS curriculum was brought to the North High Polars in their 2013-14 season when they were in last place and was part of their transformation from worst-to-first.
