HAH develops and manages affordable senior rental communities with grants, donations and tax credits, having developed over 400 senior affordable apartments in ten rural Kansas communities since our formation in 1998. Average age of our senior tenants is 76 years of age and average income is less than $17,000. Seniors quality of life is improved with amenities and services including our Beef for Seniors which annually buys local 4-H steers and processes them with donations to provide seniors with quality beef. Homestead also provides emergency and essential repairs to elderly low income homeowners. Handicapped bath, ramps, roofs and furnaces help senior to remain independent as possible for as long as possible. Homestead also provides homeowner opportunities for families with very limited incomes; providing home buyer education and loan origination for USDA Rural Development low interest loans.
