About
Formed in 1982 by a group of neighbors with the goal of looking after the needs of all the children, families, and senior citizens who were going hungry all over the state, the Arkansas Rice Depot started helping shelters and food pantries fill their shelves. They found locally-grown rice for sale at the right price and the funds to pay for it so that anyone suffering hunger could get free rice. Today, the organization continues to assist countless seniors, children, schools, and families struggling to put food on the table.
