About
Mustard Seed Communities, (MSC) is an international non-profit dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable populations throughout the developing world. MSC was founded by Msgr. Gregory Ramkissoon over forty years ago, as a home for a handful of children who had been abandoned to the streets of Jamaica. Today, MSC provides loving and lifelong residential care to over 600 children and adults with disabilities, children affected by HIV/Aids and young mothers in crisis across Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe and Malawi. MSC has numerous outreach programmes. Nutrition and education are at the forefront of these programmes providing nourishment and hope to impoverished families, empowering them to break out of the cycle of poverty. In Zimbabwe alone, MSC operates four nutrition programmes which feed over 1,000 children a nutritious meal of cooked cornmeal and beans every day. Many of these children live in subhuman conditions, including those living on a garbage dump where over 1,000 squatters reside among the filth and flies. Little Angels' Learning Centers provide early education to children whose families cannot afford to send them to school. Today, there are five schools throughout Jamaica and Zimbabwe. In addition to a high quality education, the children receive two wholesome meals per day.

Current projects
As the pandemic continues to spread across the world the numbers attending our feeding programmes in Zimbabwe have now doubled. With no way to raise the funds and with 1,000 people turning up at our feeding programmes daily, Mustard Seed Ireland is urgently appealing for your help. We cannot turn anyone away! The Power of One €0.80 cent will feed One child a hot meal of cornmeal and sadza every day. We can’t change the world but each of us has the power to help JUST ONE. By helping one child or one family at a time, together we can make a difference!
