Since 1982, the Rhode Island Community Food Bank has requested, stored, and distributed surplus food and basic supply items to qualified member organizations that serve Rhode Island's hungry. Much of the donated food and nonfood family items are given to the organization through their system of 178 partnering food programs found throughout Rhode Island. The Food Bank is a creative pioneer tackling the problem of hunger. In collaboration with their partner organizations and the government, they work to guarantee that nobody in Rhode Island goes hungry.
