The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF) is an award-winning international nonprofit charity dedicated to planting fruitful trees and plants to alleviate world hunger, combat global warming, strengthen communities, and improve the surrounding air, soil, and water. FTPF programs strategically donate orchards where the harvest will best serve communities for generations, at places such as public schools, city parks, low-income neighborhoods, Native American reservations, international hunger relief sites, and animal sanctuaries. FTPF’s unique mission, which has been featured in The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times and The Today Show, benefits the environment, human health, and animal welfare—all at once! Together with the community, local non-profits, and municipalities, we will bring fruitful trees & horticultural training to areas affected by deforestation, violence, & poverty. Trees will be planted at schools, farmer's cooperatives & community centers, bringing sustainable nutrition & income to struggling families & communities, and training to provide information on planting aftercare. Deforestation & soil erosion in El Salvador has had serious environmental, social, & economic impacts, and is something that affects mostly the rural population with nearly one million Salvadorans living in poverty & over 50% of El Salvador unsuitable for food cultivation. FTPF will help family incomes & health by distributing fruit trees to low-income areas to provide a sustainable source of nutrition & help clean the air. FTPF will combat deforestation by incorporating native tree varieties such as the Ojushte/Breadnut tree in the reforestation effort of rural forests. FTPF provides workshops with our professional arborists on horticultural training & aftercare, as well as information on the importance of trees to the community & the environment. Bringing 100,000 trees to El Salvador provides a long-term, inexpensive & sustainable solution to multiple urgent needs. As the trees grow to maturity, the communities will be enriched by their
