The Irish Society for Autism was established in 1963 and it had the aim of making sure there was more awareness surrounding the disease, the diagnosis procedures, and the education needed for people with autism. It's goal is to assist the education of people with autism by delivering supportive environments where they can learn new skills so they can lead fulfilling lives. Since its inception 51 years ago the society has provided information on autism to thousands of parents, families, and people working in the health and education sectors. It has also provided residential services and supports for adults with autism all over the country.
