Emergency assistance and community rebuilding (following a crisis) has been the mission of the International Rescue Committee (IRC) for the past 80 years. They provide support in many countries all over Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and the Middle East. They work with all members of society including children, women, and urban refugees by assisting with projects relating to emergency response, health, advocacy, research and evaluation, human rights, and sustainability. In 2013, IRC-UK made sure 13 million people received access to primary reproductive health care, made sure 1.4 million had access to clean drinking water and sanitation, and provided educational support to more than 725,000 children.
